A flat optical plane on the face of the camera, (rather than the traditional bubble shape) further reduces IR reflection, eliminating the bounce back effects of having IR light emitting through a curved surface, (this is especially true of external cameras as rain drops on the glass ruin the picture, add an additional IR light source and you have IR light bouncing all around the inside of your camera basically causing the camera to blind itself with too much light) the split glass lenses on the camera also eliminate IR refraction in the viewing area, effectively making IR bleed through impossible and further improving picture quality.
